Today the Photography Studio hosted a photography workshop led by the college's Photography Technician, Andy. I offered to model for some of the photos as nobody else seemed confident enough to; this meant I actually came out with some lovely headshots!
Some of the subjects we covered included:
Photography and camera settings
Adjusting the length of the shutter speed to allow more light
Discussing the technicalities of lighting equipment
Impacts of excessive or improper lighting
Adding gels to the lights or lens
General photography techniques and equipment
Shooting in RAW
Light painting with long exposure
Making full use of the studio by taking lots of photos
Our tutor then showed some Photoshop techniques, covering image adjustments, layering multiple images and blend modes, which I will explore in a more detailed blog post.
