Photography Studio Workshop

Today the Photography Studio hosted a photography workshop led by the college's Photography Technician, Andy. I offered to model for some of the photos as nobody else seemed confident enough to; this meant I actually came out with some lovely headshots!

Some of the subjects we covered included:

• Photography and camera settings

• Adjusting the length of the shutter speed to allow more light

• Discussing the technicalities of lighting equipment

• Impacts of excessive or improper lighting

• Adding gels to the lights or lens

• General photography techniques and equipment

• Shooting in RAW

• Light painting with long exposure

• Making full use of the studio by taking lots of photos

Our tutor then showed some Photoshop techniques, covering image adjustments, layering multiple images and blend modes, which I will explore in a more detailed blog post.
